The Adventure Method

A science-backed, nervous-system-informed approach to helping women nourish their bodies, move with confidence, and build sustainable habits—so they're ready for whatever adventure life has in store.

Nutrition. Movement. Nervous system rewiring.

Helping women build strength, confidence, and self-trust so they can live bigger, fuller lives.

Not because you should.
Not because you have to.
Because your life is waiting.

Adventure means something different for every woman.

For some, it's backpacking through the mountains.

For others, it's saying yes to a trip they've been putting off.

Keeping up with their kids.

Feeling confident in their body.

Starting over after a difficult season.

Running their first race.

Or simply trusting themselves again.

Whatever your adventure looks like, my job is to help you build the strength, nourishment, and mindset to meet it.
Whether your adventure is hiking your first mountain, traveling with confidence, running your first race, playing with your kids, or simply feeling at home in your own body again, my goal is to help you become strong enough to say "yes" to whatever matters most to you.

THIS ISN'T ABOUT WILLPOWER

You don't need more discipline.

You need a system that works with your brain instead of against it.

You've probably tried...

  • diets/programs

  • meal plans

  • challenges

  • cutting carbs

  • Asking ChatGPT or AI

The problem isn't a lack of knowledge….

It's that sustainable change requires more than information.

It requires changing the habits, beliefs, and nervous system patterns that drive your daily decisions.

MY PHILOSOPHY

We don't subtract.

We add.

Instead of removing foods...

We identify what's missing.

Protein. Fiber. Fats. Movement. Sleep. Recovery. Self-trust.

One habit at a time.

No perfection.

No shame.

Just sustainable progress.

Why I Created The Adventure Method

Why I Created The Adventure Method

I grew up in the '80s and '90s, when low-fat, highly processed foods and diet culture were the norm. Like so many women, I learned to fear fat, chase the next nutrition trend, and believe my body was something to fix.

Over the years, I cycled through "clean eating," Paleo, intuitive eating, and just about every approach in between, always searching for the answer. At the same time, I struggled with IBS-like symptoms and SIBO throughout much of my 20s and 30s. I was told I'd probably always deal with digestive issues unless I eliminated major food groups and simply "managed my stress."

No one ever taught me that food could be more than a means to an end. No one taught me how to nourish my body in a way that supported the life I wanted to live.

In 2009, I became a personal trainer because I wanted to help people feel stronger and more confident in their own skin. Two years later, I earned my nutrition coaching certification after realizing that exercise alone wasn't enough. I thought nutrition would be the missing piece to unlocking my clients success at sustaining the changes they were making.

But something still wasn't adding up.

My clients knew what to do. They had the workouts. They had the nutrition guidance. Yet so many of them continued to feel stuck.

The more conversations I had, the clearer it became: the biggest obstacles weren't protein, calories, or workouts.

It was fear.

Perfectionism.

All-or-nothing thinking.

Body shame.

The stories people believed about themselves.

That's what led me away from simply coaching exercise and nutrition and into confidence coaching. I wanted to help women change not only their behaviors, but also the beliefs driving those behaviors.

Then, in 2019, everything changed.

A colleague introduced me to Brainspotting.

After experiencing it firsthand, I saw how powerful it could be in helping people process experiences, shift long-held patterns, and move beyond the subconscious barriers that traditional coaching couldn't always reach. I spent the following year studying, practicing, and becoming certified, and I've been integrating Brainspotting into my coaching ever since.

Watching clients gain confidence, freedom, perspective, and a renewed sense of self-trust through this work has been one of the greatest privileges of my career.

Then, in 2025, life brought me full circle.

While training for an ultramarathon, I found myself facing a new nutrition challenge. I wasn't trying to lose weight—I was trying to fuel enough to support the demands of endurance training.

What fascinated me most wasn't the food itself- It was how much of the challenge was mental.

It reminded me that sustainable nutrition isn't just about knowing what to eat. It's about feeling safe enough to nourish your body, trust yourself, and consistently choose habits that support the life you want to live.

That's when everything clicked.

What if nutrition, movement, and nervous system work didn't exist as separate conversations? What if they worked together?

That's how The Adventure Method™ was born.

The Adventure Method combines evidence-informed nutrition, sustainable movement, habit science, and Brainspotting to help women create lasting change from the inside out.

Because I don't believe health is about chasing a smaller body (and just because your body is smaller doesn’t guarantee that you will be happier in it- trust me).

I believe it's about building a body and mind that allow you to fully participate in your life.

What I Believe:

We don't subtract—we add.

Progress beats perfection.

Food is fuel, not punishment.

Movement should be enjoyable.

Your nervous system matters.

Small habits create extraordinary change.

Strong looks different on every woman.

Body neutrality is essential for peace.

The goal isn't a perfect body. It's a bigger life.

Before We Begin/FAQ

How do I know if this program is right for me?

If you're tired of starting over, overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition advice, or feel like you know what to do but struggle to consistently do it, you're exactly who I created this program for. Whether your goal is feeling stronger, improving your health, preparing for an adventure, or finally finding peace with food, we'll create an approach that's personalized to you.

Do I need to be outdoorsy to work with you?

Not at all.

Adventure means something different for every woman. For some, it's hiking a mountain. For others, it's keeping up with their kids, traveling confidently, running their first race, or simply feeling at home in their own body again.

The Adventure Method isn't about becoming a backpacker—it's about building a body and mindset that allow you to fully participate in your life.

What if I don't want to lose weight?

That's perfectly okay.

Some women come to me wanting to improve body composition, while others simply want more energy, better performance, healthier habits, improved confidence, or a more peaceful relationship with food.

Our work is always centered around your goals—not someone else's definition of success.

Nutrition

Will I have to count calories or macros?

Not necessarily.

Some clients enjoy tracking because it provides valuable information, while others find it stressful or unnecessary.

We may use food logging as a temporary tool to identify nutritional gaps, but the goal is never to have you tracking forever. The goal is to build awareness, confidence, and habits that eventually become second nature.

Will I have to give up my favorite foods?

No.

One of the core principles of The Adventure Method is "We don't subtract—we add."

Rather than creating long lists of foods you can't eat, we focus on adding what your body needs first. As your nutrition becomes more balanced, many food choices begin to shift naturally rather than through willpower.

Do you provide meal plans?

No.

Instead of handing you a rigid meal plan that only works while you're following it, I teach you how to make confident food decisions in your real life.

My goal is to help you build skills that last long after our coaching ends.

Brainspotting

What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a focused, brain-body (somatic) approach that can help people process experiences, emotions, and patterns that may be contributing to feeling stuck. Many clients find it helps them access thoughts and reactions that traditional coaching alone doesn't always reach.

When appropriate, we integrate Brainspotting into your coaching to support lasting change around food, movement, body image, confidence, and other personal goals. You can learn more about Brainspotting here.

Do I have to do Brainspotting?

No.

While Brainspotting is a powerful tool, it's never required.

We'll decide together what level of nervous system work feels supportive for you.

Coaching

How much time will this take each week?

Most clients are surprised by how manageable the process feels.

Rather than trying to overhaul your entire lifestyle overnight, we'll focus on one or two meaningful changes at a time. Small, consistent actions create the biggest long-term results.

What if I mess up?

Then we'll learn from it.

This isn't a program built on perfection.

There are no "good" foods or "bad" foods, and there are no perfect clients.

Every challenge simply gives us more information so we can adjust your plan and keep moving forward.

I've tried everything. Why would this be different?

Because this program doesn't rely on motivation, discipline, or willpower- which most programs do.

Most programs focus only on modifying food and exercise. The Adventure Method also addresses the habits, beliefs, and nervous system patterns that influence your daily choices.

When we address the foundation, lasting change becomes much more possible.

Logistics

Do you work virtually?

Yes! All coaching sessions are held virtually, allowing you to participate from anywhere. I also have limited availability to meet in-person in my Happy Valley, Oregon office.

Can I work with you if I already have a therapist or dietitian?

Absolutely.

Many of my clients work with other healthcare professionals, and my coaching is designed to complement—not replace—the care you're already receiving. If helpful and with your permission, I'm happy to collaborate as part of your support team.

What happens after my program ends?

My hope is that you leave coaching feeling equipped with the tools, confidence, and habits to continue on your own.

If you'd like ongoing support, we'll discuss the next step that makes the most sense for your goals, whether that's continuing coaching, joining a future group program, or attending a retreat.

What does "Adventure" mean?

Adventure isn't a destination—it's a way of living.

For one woman, adventure might mean hiking her first mountain. For another, it might mean saying yes to a family vacation without worrying about her body, training for a 5K, playing on the floor with her grandchildren, or simply trusting herself around food for the first time in years.

The Adventure Method is about helping you build the strength, confidence, and self-trust to pursue whatever adventure matters most to you.

Are you in-network with insurance providers?

At this time, I am not able to bill insurance providers or accept HSA payments. I am happy to provide a Super Bill for your insurance as a possible out of network provider- however, most virtual coaching is not provided for under insurance at this time.

Your body was never meant to be your limitation.

It was meant to carry you through a life filled with adventure, connection, strength, and joy.

Whether your adventure is hiking a mountain, chasing your kids, running your first race, traveling the world, or simply feeling at home in your own body...

You deserve to feel strong enough to say yes.

Let's build that together.
